INDIVIDUAL THERAPY

" The human soul doesn't want to be fixed, it simply wants to be seen and heard. "

 – Peter A. Levine

Is Therapy Right For You?

Perhaps you have wondered if therapy is “right” for you. Or, maybe you have a history of experience in therapy. Either way, I’m glad you’ve made your way here. I believe that true healing goes beyond just talking through your problems—it requires a deep, whole body approach to address the root causes of your discomforts. I emphasize the essential relationship between the mind-body-spirit in healing. I actively embody anti-oppressive practices and aim to provide a safe and affirming space for all.

My Approach

Through the safety of the therapeutic relationship, we can start to see ourselves and our relationship to the world around us in new lights.

My approach is strength and relationship-based, with a focus on tapping into the resilience that exists within and amongst us. I am an eclectic therapist, drawing upon my training in evidence-based modalities, such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, to name a few. I often incorporate skills from traditional talk-based therapies and body-based Somatic Experiencing, weaving between the various approaches in a way that connects best for you. This means that therapy may incorporate times of stillness as well as movement, with opportunities for us to re-evaluate what is working and what needs tweaking.

I believe in the importance of practicing what you preach. I arrive to sessions as authentically human, which means that the tips and techniques I offer are ones that I have used myself or that others have found helpful, but ultimately you will guide the process as you are truly the best expert of your own experience.

I practice from a lens of cultural humility. I take responsibility to self-reflect and increase my understanding of all aspects of my clients’ identity. My aim is to be a supportive guide who honors the customs that may already be established as natural resources to build upon.

Sessions are offered both in-person and virtually.
